Hey there… Adam here… it’s 7:52am and I have no idea why I’m not sleeping! Matt will be here at noon today and we’re gonna smack down some guitars on this new song called “To Be Saved”….. Here’s an excerpt of the lyricals:

Hey All… Adam here (that’s Nic’s post right below me)

So I wrote a new song today… it’s been a fertile week… have one from the day before yesterday too… today’s is called “To Be Saved”… we all need to be…. one Big Time, and countless little times… if ya know what I’m talkin bout:-)………… oh and we’re rehearsing tonight, so I’m excited to run the new song by the guys and see if I get little nods or big time “yeah!”’s… it’s funny with songwriting…. there’s a little haze that comes with a new song… you’re tempted to think it’s your best work until a few days go by, the haze lifts, and the truth is revealed: sweet, or sour. 

I’m playing a solo acoustic show Thursday night (11/19/08) at the Gypsy Lounge…. a bunch of song-writers on one stage… there’s a thing they do in Nashville called “songwriters in the round”…. there’s a few people on stage at once and you go around singing one song each for a bit.. super fun… hope you can make it down… starts at 8pm sharp…. details on the myspace: www.myspace.com/adamwatts

I’ll tell you what, things are really rolling in AWB land…. our manager David, is rocking it… we’re looking forward to a fun 2009! Touring, recording and releasing music. So into to playing these tunes with this group of guys, for people everywhere…. a.k.a. The Dream:-) or as a friend calls it “Dream A”… only for me, “Dream B” happened first…

Oh, and about the ‘throwing up’ part… (this part: RATED PG13 for mild grossness)…. our dog Clementine has a bit of a stomach issue today… she licked my eggs plate this morning… the tiny bit of Tabasco on there did her in a bit… she’s fine… though it was… ummm…. interesting to see her running around all stoked with a rubber toy in her mouth and then all of sudden: “bluhhg” – the toy plus some “throw up” made it’s way to the studio floor. Yuck… she stood there stunned like I had just said “freeze sucka!”… I cleaned it up and moments later she was running full speed around the backyard. She’s a tough little Clemmers.

I just learned a lesson the hard way… Nobody likes the department of motor vehicles. And everybody has to pay for registration. Fun. So I payed my dues, but failed to recieve my tags. Lame. This past Saturday my car was towed for expired tags, huge bummer. Just now got the car back after a beautiful morning, filled with a trip to the auto club to clear the expired registration and to get a moving permit, then a trip to La Policia to get a certificate of release, and a trip to the tow yard to present them with a certificate of release. Oh yea and the tow yard gave us a bargain of $426 USD, just for towing the car 1.5 miles!! All of this because of one little incorrect digit on the insurance card -way back in May- which rendered the car uninsured and resulted in expired registration, OUCH. Who’s fault was that? I guess it takes a hit like that, seemingly undeserved and unfair, to learn to not wait to take care of these things. Now that that’s over I can legally drive to go jam with Adam Jules and Matt!
